Timelapse Photography and Microscopy

Grown organically

An emerging capability in the imaging studio and a perfect complement for our new venture - Biophilia Matters. We have begun dedicated propagation and cultivation of plants to be used for shooting timelapse content. The finished video files are more like 4K fruits and vegetables - grown with love, cruelty-free and delicious.

Currently developing several automated motion systems that will enable micro movements over extended time periods. For example: lateral rail tracking of 30cm precisely split over several days.

Ferns

Prehistoric and unpredictable - cultivating ferns has been the biggest challenge yet. When they do decide to cooperate its always an amazing display.

Passion Flower

These plants have been instrumental in helping to accelerate process design, techniques and technical rigging. Passion flowers open and close in shorter durations than most others and can easily be initiated. This allows for increased iteration, repeatability and creative exploration.

Shiitake Mushrooms

Once you get your shot throw them in the pot. For more excitement try leaving them for a few days extra and watch the spore show ensue. A world class sporechestra.

The Tulip

A new species on our timelapse stage providing a surprising and seductive performance.

City Pans

Slow panning bracket created with an egg timer and some lego blocks.

Cloudwerk

Something that is revealed when shooting timelapse of clouds are the multi-directional layers which at normal pace seem to all move in a single direction.
